How To Date Multiple People

Dating multiple people is fun, exciting and never boring…but it’s not always easy!  It can be stressful and confusing to juggle such a packed schedule.  Here are a few tips to help you keep your cool, and avoid dating burnout…so you can focus on more important things, like what to wear.

1. Don’t Over Commit.
Some people can schedule two or even three dates in a single night with no problem, while others can’t imagine doing this. If you don’t mind being booked back to back to back, planning ahead can help the evening move smoothly. Be on time, make reservations when available, and let your date know you are on a time crunch. If you aren’t a fan of multiple dates in one night, don’t do it-no matter how tempting. You won’t be able to enjoy yourself, and really, isn’t that what it’s all about? Know your limits.

2. Don’t Say “Yes” To Just Anyone!
Sure, you aren’t looking for something serious right now, but that doesn’t mean your time isn’t precious.  Sitting on your couch alone is always better than hanging out with a loser! Keep your standards high, and only schedule time for people you genuinely enjoy spending time with.

3. Take Time For Yourself.
I know, I know. You want to date, not spend time alone. Taking time for yourself doesn’t necessarily mean you’re home alone, looking at the wall and talking to your cat. Don’t let “dating” become your number one hobby though. Keep your interests going and make sure to spend time with family and friends. To avoid burning out on the dating game, you have to step away from it from time to time. Staying busy and active is attractive to the opposite sex and gives you lots to talk about on all your dates!

4. Stay Organized and Do Your Homework.

This one is for my seriously BUSY daters out there. It might seem silly, but create a spreadsheet/note on your phone or laptop where you compile information about your dates. Not stalker style, of course…just basic info so you don’t get confused. I’m sure you’re thinking “I would never get people mixed up” but just in case you have one too many glasses of pinot and start calling ‘Mike’ by ‘Matt’, keep a back up. Refer to this little black book of sorts before you go on a date and never get a name confused again.
