Terms of Use for No Strings Dating

Welcome to No Strings Dating, a service provided by Digital Dudes Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 07851009 and VAT number GB126233050 ("we," "us," "our", “Site”, “Company”, “Platform” or “Service”). By accessing or using our website, mobile application, and services (collectively, "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). Please read these Terms carefully. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use our Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, browsing profiles, or using any service offered by the Platform, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms. If you are using our Service on behalf of an organisation, you agree to these Terms on behalf of that organisation.

1A. Policies That Form Part of These Terms

These Terms include the following policies, which you also agree to: our Acceptable Use Policy, Content Policy, Community Guidelines, Child Safety Standards, Anti-Trafficking, Exploitation and Abuse Statement, Law Enforcement Policy, Refund Policy, Complaints Policy and Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 21 years old to create an account. Members who joined aged 18 to 20 before we raised the minimum age to 21 may keep using their accounts. By agreeing to these Terms, you represent and warrant that you are of legal age to form a binding contract with us.

Age restriction: this Service is intended for adults. New members must be 21 or over, in every location, and nobody under 18 (or under the age of majority where it is higher) may use it in any circumstances. No one under that age should carry out any activity whatsoever based on the information on this Service.

Every member takes a selfie age check with our partner Didit before they can use the Service, including members who joined before we introduced it, the next time they sign in. Where the check cannot confirm your age, you must pass ID verification before you can carry on.

3. Membership and Subscription

You may register as a member ("Member") to use the Service for free. As a Member, you will gain access to some but not all of the features and functionality of the Service. To gain more extensive access to the Service, including the ability to communicate with other Members, you must become a paying subscriber ("Subscriber") and pay the relevant Subscription fee that is set out in our Membership and Pricing page and shown on the payment page. Members and Subscribers to be collectively referred to as "Users" in the context of this Agreement.

4. Billing and Payment Policy

By registering as a Subscriber, you agree to pay the Subscription fees you selected from the relevant Subscription package options set out on the payment page. You give your permission for the Company and its billing provider to retain your payment information and charge your chosen payment provider for use of the Service.

Automatic renewal. Plans renew automatically at the end of each period, at the price shown at checkout, using the payment method you paid with, until you cancel. We email you 48 hours before each renewal with the amount, the date and how to cancel. You can cancel at any time in Account, Membership. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. A 24-hour pass is a single payment and never renews.

If we offer a discounted first period, the checkout will say so, together with the full price the plan then renews at and when.

All Subscribers are able to cancel their Subscription at any time. For details, please see Section 5: Term and Termination.

You agree to provide true, current, accurate, and complete information about yourself as requested. You agree to keep this information up to date and current (to include any change in billing address, card number, or expiry date). You agree and acknowledge that you are responsible and remain liable for all Subscription fees that are made using your account details, up until the point of notification by you to the Company of any unauthorised use of your account details. We shall not be held responsible nor liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with these provisions.

When you opt to purchase your membership via one of our third-party payment partners, you will be subject to their terms and conditions. Purchases in our iPhone app are sold and billed by Apple, and are cancelled and refunded through Apple.

5. Term and Termination

This Agreement remains in effect while you use the Service and/or maintain an active account. You may cancel your subscription at any time via Account → Membership by completing the on-site cancellation flow. Once submitted, you’ll receive an on-screen confirmation and a confirmation email.

  • Effective date. Cancelling stops your plan renewing, and you keep your benefits until the end of the period you have paid for. If you ask for a refund of the unused part instead, your benefits end when it is made.
  • Refunds. Any refunds or prorated amounts (where available) are handled in accordance with our Refund Policy.
  • Your responsibility. Cancellation is considered complete only when the on-site process is finished and the confirmation is issued.
  • Account status. Cancelling a subscription does not delete your account. You can manage account deletion separately in Account → Settings.

If you cancel your Subscription, you will still continue to enjoy and receive all your subscriber benefits until the end of your then paid-for Subscription period, after which time these benefits will cease.

Cancelling your Subscription does not automatically delete your Member profile. Even if you cancel your Subscription, you will still remain a Member and can continue to use the Service as a Member, and your profile will remain visible to other users of the Service. If you wish to remove your profile and data from the Service, you can do so at any time by following the instructions on our Delete Account page.

We may suspend or close your account, or restrict what you can do on the Service, if you break these Terms or the policies in Section 1A, if the law requires it, or to protect other members. Where we can, we will tell you first. When we act, we tell you why, unless the law or someone's safety stops us, and you can ask us to review the decision through our Complaints page. If we close your account without a good reason, we will refund any unused part of a plan you paid us for. Any abusive, threatening, fraudulent, obscene, or illegal activity on the Service or conduct or activity that may affect the enjoyment or use of the Service by other Members or Subscribers may be grounds for termination. Cases of fraudulent or illegal activities may be referred to the appropriate law enforcement agencies. After your Membership or Subscription is terminated for any reason, all terms of this Agreement shall continue in full force and effect.

Member participation policy: Member participation is defined as where a Member has uploaded media, sent or read messages, uploaded any written content to the site, liked or matched other members, since the membership subscription was activated.

6. White Label Network

This Site is part of a broader network of dating sites run with DatingAPI, our network and technology provider, which holds members' profiles, photos and messages for the whole network. By joining the Service, you acknowledge and agree that your profile may be seen and searched by members across this network, including members who joined a partner site. How your data is shared across the network is set out in our Privacy Policy and on our Shared Network page.

Additionally, you recognize that users you interact with may have registered through partner services different from the Site.

We use specific classifications and filters across our services to manage access and interactions. With your agreement when you join, we use the details on your profile, including your sexual preferences and what you are looking for, for these classifications. This approach may influence the visibility of your profile to other users, their profiles to you, and the communication options available among users within the network.

7. Safety and Account Security

Meeting people you do not know carries risks, and you should use the Service with that in mind. We prioritise your safety and security; however, it's crucial that you exercise discretion and caution when sharing personal information with others on the platform. Our Safety Centre has advice on meeting safely.

NO STRINGS DATING DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS ON ITS MEMBERS. Please be aware that the Platform does not perform criminal background checks on its members, nor do we verify the accuracy of the information provided by users. It's possible for users to provide misleading information, and not all criminal records may be accessible online. Therefore, when engaging with the service, you should be mindful that user profiles, messages, and interactions might not always be what they seem. We urge you to proceed with caution in all interactions with fellow members.

We may require any member to complete identity verification through our verification partner, Didit, before their account is approved, or at any later point. In particular, we require verification where the selfie age check cannot confirm a member's age, where an account is registered using a VPN or other service that conceals the user's location, and where our moderation team identifies a reason to request it during account review. Identity verification is a one-off paid service, as set out in our Membership and Pricing page. Members may also choose to verify voluntarily. Verification confirms that a government-issued identity document matches the person presenting it. It is not a criminal background check, and we do not otherwise verify the accuracy of information provided by members.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account password and for all activities that occur under your account. Ensure you log out after each session to protect your account further. Should you suspect or become aware of any unauthorised use of your account, you must inform Us immediately and follow any instructions given to secure your account.

8. Community Guidelines and Conduct

In the spirit of fostering a positive environment for all users and adhering to legal requirements, you agree to use the Service responsibly and lawfully, and to follow our Community Guidelines and Acceptable Use Policy. Your actions on the platform must respect local, state, national, and international laws and regulations. Specifically, you agree not to engage in the following activities:

  • Posting or engaging with any content that violates the guidelines set out in Section 9.
  • Requesting financial contributions or services from other members.
  • Engaging in harassment, stalking, or any form of unwanted attention towards others.
  • Impersonating another individual or misrepresenting your identity.
  • Distributing content that promotes commercial endeavours or benefits external services.
  • Disseminating unsolicited or unauthorised advertisements, promotional materials, "junk mail," spam, or any other form of solicitation.
  • Introducing harmful digital elements to the platform, such as viruses, bots, worms, or any code that might disrupt, damage, or limit the functionality of the service or other users' devices.
  • Employing automated tools (e.g., bots, spiders, scrapers) to access, collect, or manipulate the content or information on the Platform without permission.
  • Engaging in any form of data mining or similar data gathering and extraction methods to collect user information or content.
  • Defraud, or attempt to defraud, any other user, including by misrepresenting your identity, age, photographs, circumstances, location or intentions in order to obtain money, gifts, cryptocurrency, financial account details, investment participation or anything else of value.
  • Solicit money, gifts, financial support, investment, cryptocurrency, gift card codes or payment details from any other user, for any reason, including claimed emergencies, travel costs, medical bills, customs fees or business opportunities.
  • Ask any other user to receive, hold or forward funds on your behalf.
  • Direct other users off the Service to any third-party site, application, investment platform or payment method for the purpose of financial gain.

Your commitment to these guidelines ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for yourself and the entire Platform community. Violations of these principles may result in the suspension or termination of your account and access to the service.

8A. Prohibited Conduct: Trafficking, Exploitation and Abuse

The following is absolutely prohibited. It is not subject to warning or appeal. Any account engaged in it will be terminated immediately and permanently without refund, and reported to law enforcement.

You must not use the Service to:

  • Engage in, facilitate, advertise, solicit, arrange, fund or benefit from human trafficking in any form, including sex trafficking, forced labour and debt bondage.
  • Engage in, facilitate or promote the sexual exploitation of any person, including prostitution, escort services, and any arrangement offering sexual activity or companionship in exchange for money, gifts or other benefit.
  • Engage in, facilitate or promote sexual violence, sexual assault, or the coercion of any person into sexual activity, or incite, glorify or normalise any of them.
  • Share, threaten to share, or solicit intimate or sexual images of any person without that person's freely given, informed and current consent, or threaten to publish private information or imagery in order to coerce or extort.
  • Aid, abet, assist, counsel, procure, encourage or incite any other person to commit abuse, sexual violence, coercive control, domestic abuse, stalking or any conduct prohibited by this section, whether that conduct is intended to take place on the Service or elsewhere.
  • Engage in, facilitate or promote the sexual exploitation or abuse of any person under the age of 18.

Our full position is set out in our Anti-Trafficking, Exploitation and Abuse Statement and our Child Safety Standards, both of which form part of these Terms.

Reporting. Report any of the above using the in-service reporting tools, or through our Contact Page under "Reporting Misuse or illegal behaviour". We investigate every such report.

Modern slavery. We support the objectives of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and prohibit any use of the Service that would constitute an offence under it.

8B. Sexual Content

No Strings Dating is an adult site, and sexual content between consenting adults is allowed within our Content Policy. You must not upload, post, send, display, link to or request sexual content that:

  • involves, depicts or appears to depict anyone under 18, in any form;
  • shows anyone who has not agreed to appear in it and to it being shared on the Service;
  • appears in your username or anywhere outside signed-in members' areas;
  • is sent to a member who has not made clear they want it;
  • is offered or exchanged for money, gifts or any other benefit, or promotes any commercial sexual service.

Consent from the people shown does not make content acceptable if it breaks any of these rules. Sharing intimate images of anyone without their consent is also covered by Section 8A. Explicit photos, including main photos, are only shown to signed-in members who have passed our age check (or ID verification) and have full membership. Everyone else sees a locked card in their place. Explicit photos never appear on our public pages, in search engines or in our iPhone app.

8C. How We Protect You From Illegal Content

We use photo moderation (automated checks with Sightengine and review by our network's moderators), the Didit age check, ID verification where we ask for it, and reports from members to find illegal content. Terrorism content and child sexual exploitation and abuse content are removed as soon as we find them, the account is closed and we report it to the authorities. Other illegal content is removed as soon as we become aware of it. Intimate images reported by the person shown, or someone acting for them, are taken down within 48 hours. When we remove content or restrict an account, we tell you why. You can complain about a decision we made, or about how we handled a report, through our Complaints page.

9. Content Ownership and License

By sharing any form of content (including messages, personal ads, comments, photos, and profiles) on the Platform, you acknowledge that we reserve the right to review and, if necessary, remove any content that we believe breaches this agreement, is offensive, unlawful, jeopardises user safety, infringes on others' rights, or harms the Platform.

You bear full responsibility for the content you upload or share on the Platform. You affirm that you own or have the rights to use the content you post, ensuring it is not defamatory, invasive of privacy, or infringing on intellectual property rights, and is solely used for personal interaction on the platform without commercial intent.

You keep ownership of your content. You give us, and DatingAPI as our network provider, a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and share it within the Service and our partner network, only to run the Service and for as long as it stays on the Service. We never use your photos or profile in advertising or marketing.

You must not post content that:

  • Discriminates or incites hatred against any individual or group.
  • Harasses, annoys, or intends harm to others.
  • Spreads false information or impersonates others.
  • Promotes or depicts illegal activities.
  • Breaks the rules on sexual content in Section 8B.
  • Violates intellectual property rights.
  • Shows individuals without their consent or minors under the age of 18.
  • Includes advertising, promotions, or solicits personal information for unlawful or commercial purposes.
  • Exploits individuals in any manner.

Ensure not to include personal contact information publicly on your profile or site areas to maintain your safety and privacy. This includes sensitive details like last names, addresses, phone numbers, and social media information.

By uploading content, you confirm that every person shown in it is over 18 and has agreed to appear in it on the Service. We moderate uploaded content to protect the safety and consent of everyone shown.

10. Personal Use Only

The Platform is intended solely for the personal engagement of individual users, and any form of commercial use is explicitly prohibited. Organisations, companies, and businesses are not allowed to register as users or use the platform for any commercial purposes. It is forbidden to post content aimed at commercial benefit.

Users of the Platform agree not to engage in activities such as copying, distributing, modifying, scraping, aggregating, or in any manner commercially exploiting any information obtained from the service. Unauthorised uses of the platform, including the collection of users' personal information such as usernames and email addresses for sending unsolicited emails, or unauthorised linking to or framing of the service, are strictly prohibited. Such actions will be subject to investigation and legal proceedings as necessary.

11. Disclaimer

The Platform does not endorse or guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or integrity of any content posted or transmitted through the service. We are not liable for the actions or behaviour of any user, either online or offline. Despite our terms and conditions, we cannot ensure every user meets the age requirement or that users under the age of 18 (or the age of majority where applicable) will not access the service in contravention of these terms. There is a risk that other users, including unauthorised individuals or hackers, might access and misuse your personal information disclosed through your use of the service. The Platform disclaims any responsibility for such use of your personal information.

We are also not accountable for any disruptions, delays, technical failures, or unauthorised access to user communications, nor are we responsible for issues arising from network, software, hardware, email, or internet congestion. Any content or material you download or otherwise obtain through the service is at your own risk, and we are not liable for any damage or data loss that may result. By using the service, you waive any claims related to such damages. If you do not accept these limitations, you should not download or access any material from the service.

Content and advice provided on the service are for information only and should not be considered professional advice. Apart from the promises we make in these Terms and the rights you have by law, we give no other warranties about the service or its content. We do not promise any particular outcome from using the service, such as meeting someone. This disclaimer will remain in effect even after the termination of these terms and conditions.

12. Restriction of Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, Ireland's Consumer Rights Act 2022, the Australian Consumer Law, and New Zealand's Consumer Guarantees Act and Fair Trading Act.

Subject to that, we are not liable for the behaviour of other members, on or off the Service, or for losses that were not a foreseeable result of our breaking these Terms. Our total liability to you for anything else is limited to the amount you have paid us in the last twelve (12) months.

13. Ownership and Intellectual Property

You recognize and accept that the Platform holds and maintains all ownership rights over the Service, safeguarded by intellectual property laws among others. You agree not to duplicate, alter, develop, distribute, publish, store, or sell any such proprietary content from the Service without explicit authorization, except for information that is in the public domain or for which you have been granted express permission.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales or of the country where you live, and you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country.

Before going to court, please contact us through our Complaints page so we can try to put things right.

15. Member Disputes

You understand that you are entirely responsible for your dealings with other users on the Platform, and that the Platform bears no liability for these interactions. While We may choose to monitor disputes between users, it is not obligated to do so.

If you have a grievance or legal issue with another user, you agree to address and resolve such matters independently of the Platform, although you can always report a member who breaks these Terms.

16. Your Indemnification Obligation

You agree to compensate us for any claims brought against us by someone else, and the losses that follow, where they result from content you posted or from your breaking these Terms or the law.

17. Privacy Commitment

The Platform values the privacy of its members and handles your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy, which is an integral part of this Agreement. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, the legal bases we rely on, who we share it with and your rights.

While the Platform makes every effort to protect your personal data, we acknowledge that the security and confidentiality of information transmitted over the Internet or through email cannot be absolutely guaranteed.

18. Copyright (DMCA)

The Platform strives to adhere to the provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (DMCA), including its notice and takedown procedures, to ensure protection under the law's safe harbour provisions. As a user, you agree not to upload, share, or disseminate any copyrighted content, trademarks, or proprietary information without securing prior authorization from the rightful owners.

Our policy under the DMCA includes terminating the accounts of users who are found to be repeat infringers or who violate the intellectual property rights of others.

Should you suspect that your copyright has been infringed upon within our service, please provide us with:

  • A signature (physical or electronic) of the individual authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  • A detailed location on our service where the alleged infringing material is located.
  • A statement from you, made under penalty of perjury, asserting your good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner.
  • A statement confirming the accuracy of the notification and your authorization to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  • Your contact information, including name, address, telephone number, and email address.

Be aware that falsely claiming copyright infringement can lead to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees.

If you are outside the US, send copyright complaints through our Contact page with the same details. We act on them under the law that applies where you are.

19. In the Event of a Merger or Acquisition

Should the Company undergo a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, or sell any portion of its assets, we may transfer your personal information to the involved third party. If that happens, we will tell you, and the new owner will have to respect these Terms and our Privacy Policy in handling your data.

20. Changes to the Service

The Platform commits to making a reasonable effort to keep the service fully operational. Nevertheless, we retain the authority to alter, pause, or cease the service or any aspect of it, either temporarily or permanently, with or without prior notice. By using this service, you accept that the Platform will not be held responsible for any inconvenience or loss you or any third party might experience due to these changes.

22. Force Majeure

We will not be liable for any disruptions in service or failures to perform its duties resulting from circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to natural disasters, labour strikes, electrical outages, acts of terrorism, embargoes, warfare, fires, or other unforeseen events ("Force Majeure").

23. Changes to Terms

We may change these Terms from time to time. We post the new Terms on our Service and update the "Last updated" date at the top. If we make a significant change, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel and delete your account before then.

24. Comprehensive Agreement

This Agreement, along with the policies in Section 1A and the subscription pricing set out in our Membership and Pricing page and detailed on the service's payment page, forms the complete contract between you and the Company regarding your use of the service.

Should any part of this Agreement be deemed invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the Agreement remains effective and enforceable. Failure by Us to enforce any part of this Agreement does not constitute a waiver of our rights or provisions.

The conditions set forth in this Agreement are specific to you. Without explicit written consent from Us, you cannot transfer, assign, or delegate these terms. Any attempt to do so without our permission will be considered void.

25. Refund Policy

Refunds are governed solely by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. It sets out when a refund is available, how it is calculated and how it is paid.

Purchases in our iPhone app are refunded by Apple, as our Refund Policy explains.
