Couples dating: meet singles and other couples

Two ringed hands raising glasses of red wine over a candlelit table

Some couples want a third. Some want to meet another couple for drinks and see where it goes. Some just want to make new friends who share their outlook. Couples dating covers all of it, and the common thread is that both of you are in.

Two profiles, one plan

Because every profile is one person, couples dating starts with two profiles that tell the same story. Mention each other in your first lines, pick the same tags for what you are up for, and keep your answers consistent. People notice when one half says "Group fun" and the other says "One-off hook-up".

It also means each of you can be found in your own right, and each of you can message. That helps, because the people you meet will want to hear from both of you.

Couples meeting couples

Meeting another couple is a double date with a lot more riding on it: four people, four sets of wants, and every pair needs to click. Go slowly. A first drink with no plans for anything more takes the pressure off, and plenty of good friendships in the scene started exactly that way.

Be clear about soft swap, full swap, same room or separate, and what is off the table. Our guide to swinging and open relationships explains the terms and the agreements most couples use.

Couples meeting singles

A single person meeting a couple takes a bigger social risk than either of you, so make them feel welcome. Reply as a pair, answer their questions honestly, and never let one of you do all the talking. Treat them as an equal, not an addition.

If it is a threesome you are after, our threesome dating page and our guide to finding a third cover the rest.

How it works on No Strings Dating

Every profile is one person. There are no joint couple profiles, so each partner sets up their own and says in the first line of their own words that they are part of a couple, and what the two of you are looking for.

Pick "Threesome" or "Group fun" in what you are up for, and set your Relationship setup to "Ethically non-monogamous" or "Partner knows". That answer only shows on your full profile, never on cards. The optional Kink and fantasy section adds Joining others, with "Happy to join a couple", "Unicorn", "Bull", "FFM", "MMF", "Group play" and "Hotwife / cuckold scenes", plus "Swingers clubs" under Clubs and events. Use what fits and leave the rest for chat.

Everyone knows, everyone agrees

Everything on these pages rests on one rule: every person involved knows and agrees, including any partner at home. If your partner does not know, this is not the page for you, and our affairs page is more honest about what that involves.

It is also dating, not a marketplace. Nobody here pays or is paid for company or sex, and advertising it breaks our rules. Every member is over 18 and has passed an age check, and whatever happens, happens in private, never anywhere the public could see.

Meeting safely

Meet for a drink somewhere public first, all of you, with nothing promised. Use Safety check-in to tell a friend where you will be, have your own way home, and keep the chat on the site until you trust everyone.

More people means more reason to look after your health: use condoms, agree what protection applies with everyone, and test regularly. Our sexual health guide and the Safety Centre list free, confidential services in every country we serve. Anyone can stop at any point, and you can close any chat with one tap.

Quick answers

How do couples meet other couples?

Both partners set up a profile, mention each other, and pick Group fun or Threesome. Browse other couples who say the same, and meet for a drink first.

Is couples dating the same as swinging?

Often, but not always. Some couples want to swap, some want a third, and some just want like-minded friends. Say which on your profiles.

Should both of us message?

Yes, ideally. People want to know you are both keen, and hearing from both of you is the easiest way to show it.

Can we visit swingers clubs together?

Many couples do. You can say so with "Swingers clubs" under Clubs and events, and our swinging guide covers what clubs are like and how to start.
